During a raid last week, several Turkish soldiers were killed by terrorists of the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. The attacked soldiers fought back, however, and were able to kill about two dozen PKK fighters. After the fighting, the Turkish troops noticed that two soldiers were missing.
On Monday, the PKK said it had killed the two soldiers and had the bodies of them in its possession.

The Turkish army said that about 15 soldiers were killed by the PKK, whereas the PKK said in its announcement about the battle it killed approximately 62 Turkish soldiers, and wounded 23 others.
“The Turkish military used helicopters and we shot down one of them,” the PKK statement said. “We captured a lot of weapons.”
At this moment, the war the PKK declared on the Turkish government back in 1984 has cost approximately 44,000 individuals their lives. The PKK is considered a terrorist organization by the United States, Turkey, and the European Union, among others.
