BBC Catches Lion Kill Prey on Live Webcam

October 4th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

For the first time in history, the BBC was able to catch a lion killing its prey on a live webcam. Those who watched the webcams of the BBC at the Big Cat Diary site of the British network could see the lion kill its prey at the very moment it happened.

Luckily those who missed it can still watch it.

It is part of a magnificent project by the BBC; several webcams are installed in Kenya, Africa. These webcams broadcast live and enabled the BBC to capture some fantastic events already.

There is, however, one problem with the webcams; it seems that those of us living in other countries than Britain may have trouble watching the live cams. It tells me that this service is ‘not available’ in my area, probably meaning the Netherlands.

That’s too bad, but the initiative is great.
