UK Hit by Floods
Although August should be one of the hottest months of the year in Britain, it brought nothing but rain to central England this time around. The rain caused tremendous floods, destroying peoples’ homes.
Today it issued ‘dozens of flood warnings as torrential rain brings havoc to much of England and Wales.’
The government’s Environment Agency has put out 40 flood warnings on rivers in England and Wales. Britain has been dogged by almost continual wet weather in August - usually one of the warmest and driest months of the year. Several roads have been cut off by floodwaters in the west of the country and the chaos spread across the rest of the United Kingdom.
