PKK Attack: Six Dead

A PKK attack in the east of Turkey on military installation left six people dead on Sunday. Two of those who died were Kurdish terrorists, four security personnel.

The attack is only one of the many that have, all in all, cost more than 35,000 people their lives.

‘The initial attack occurred around 1 a.m. (6 a.m. EDT) in Bingol province, when around 15-20 members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) shot rockets and long range firearms at the security headquarters.’

Most of the attackers fled at the moment security personnel fought back; a firefight erupted in which two of the attackers were killed. The others then fled the scene.

Earlier this weekend, on Saturday, two other Turkish soldiers were killed by the Kurdish terrorist organization. According to analysts, the recent attacks of the PKK on both civilian and military targets are not a sign of strength but of weakness; they have been severely weakened by the recent military action of Turkey against their centers and training camps in northern Iraq. It are act of desperation.

Current Erdogan government is doing a very bad job on various issues but especially dealing with the PKK… I am not optimistic about them resolving anything, let alone dealing with a terrorist group…
