Karadzic Extradited to The Hague
Radovan Karadzic has been extradited to the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague, the Netherlands. There he will face charges of planning the genocide inflicted upon Bosnian Muslims living in Srebrenica, back in the 1990s.
The former president of Bornian Serbs and war criminal was transferred to the Hague last night, under the cover of darkness. The reason for the secrecy surrounding his transfer is obvious; many nationalist Serbs don’t support the extradition. They consider Karadzic to be a true Serbian hero, who did what had to be done.
Lets hope that Karadzic does not die in jail like Slobodan Milosevic did. At least one of the most important Serbian leaders has to be punished for the crimes committed by all of them.
