If I were the president this is what I would do. Today.

1. Put a moving cap on futures so that oil cannot tank and create broke people. The fear in the market is astounding. Oil production has not changed since the wars but fears that something will happen has..........IT is this fear that is driving the prices up. The fear that something will block the flow of oil and thus these companies that are buying futures for the right to buy oil at a KNOWN price are buying it in a frenzy.

2. Conservation methods would be put in place today. Speed limit back to 55. Blah, blah, blah. et al. speaks for itself.

3. Drill for new oil. speaks for itself.

Oil production is stagnant, demand is getting very close to exceeding demand. The price of oil is climbing because the people believe that anything currently being done will not alter ONE FACT. Sometime in the near future OIL PRODUCTION WILL NOT KEEP UP WITH DEMAND. It is this one overriding fear that no matter what we do our prices will continue to go up that means going green is not the answer and Barak Obama for all his judgement just doesnt get it.

He is wedded to the entire democatic party and as such he just doesnt get it. Green is great. Im all for it but what about today and it is today, tomorrow and next year that they have no answer too. If it wasnt for this one thing I might actually vote for Barak Obama but once again he is showing me that he is no different then any other politician.

RRRocks, I agree with you. Yet, no President's big goals are ever for the following year. Even Bush.

SUPER. We have a president who is going to make the world a better place by 2050.

Now if we could just find one who is going to make it a better place next year.
