Bush Hecklers Crash Citizenship Ceremony

July 6th, 2008 By: Michael Merritt | Tags:

You know, I’m all for free speech. It’s a value this country was founded on, and one all Americans cherish the most. Yet, some of this free speech has a time and place. This kind, for example.

In the linked video, hecklers and protesters at a citizenship ceremony yesterday shout at the stage phrases such as “war criminal,” “he has brought fascism,” and others that really don’t have a reason for being at an event that should be happy and joyful.

I would hate to have one of the best days of my life, becoming a citizen of this country, marred by people who are so self-centered that they can’t go protest somewhere else.

Disgusting.

The hecklars were justified. This Tyrant that has with the help of complicet GOP and DNC politicions has turned our Republic into a facisist Ologarchy… He has with thier help brought about massive spy programs, done away with the 4th amendment and the 1st amendment. God will judge him fairly. but alas I think he will not like the reward he recieves.. His works are not of god but of the devil. He has trampled rightiousness and kindness and brought missery to untold numbers of Americans and people all over the world. He is a dark soul and a blight on humanity.. He deserves to not be able to speak without derisive comments whereever he goes for the rest of his days. Its so sad.. i had so much hope for him.. A good tree cannot help but bring forth good fruit.. what kind of fruit has he brought our nation?? So his tree is corrupt and bears nothing but death, poverty, misery.. I am ashamed to be a citizen with him..

  2. "This Tyrant."

Perhaps you guys should have a real tyrant for a couple of years. You know, the kind that actually locks up political dissenters, and kills them.

Perhaps that would teach you a minor lesson.

I am still waiting for him to reveal his overthrowing the election and electing himself dictator plan. Seems I have been hearing about that for seven years, he only has 4 months better enact that plan soon.

Not to sound paranoid but I believe there is a server somewhere that scans the internet looking for words/phrases like "Bush" or "Global War on Terror" or "Globalization" and then generates comment posts such as Tim C’s.  And I think the protesters are part of that same process which is actually owned by a large, unknown multi-national corporation.  I think they’re paid employees or maybe just useful dupes for the broader schemes and business plans of this corporation.  I just haven’t figured out the economic angle on this corporation.  What could they be selling?  What market are they trying to control?  And who’s their candidate?

    Michael Merrit,
You couldn’t be more wrong. The “time
and place” restrictions you place on
    our Constitutionally Guaranteed Right
to Free Speech exist only in your mind.

What’s disgusting is that your delicate
sensibilities were offended by a timely and
    appropriate response to the impeachable
crimes this buffoon president has committed
    against our nation.

If newly minted citizens can’t appreciate
the priceless lesson of democracy in action to which
they were treated, they aren’t worthy of citizen
    ship. Are you?

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, IT IS THEIR RIGHT, IT IS THEIR DUTY, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security

Yes they have a constitutional right to act like spoiled children, and I’ll be damned, they proved that is exactly what they are. And they wonder why that they aren’t treated with any seriousness.

    tonto, I agree.

Colorwindows, I assume you also have no issue with the Westboro Baptist Church protesting at military funerals?

Because, while this protesting doesn’t quite match the same insensitiveness, it comes close.

"Perhaps you guys should have a real tyrant for a couple of years. You know, the kind that actually locks up political dissenters, and kills them. Perhaps that would teach you a minor lesson." You don’t have to do that to be a tyrant. The Patriot act comes to mind, and that’s all the lesson I need. But I agree that it was an odd and unpleasant choice for a demonstarion site. I mean, it’s not like the place was pro-Bush just because it was sponsored by the state. However, you’d have to be a tender soul to feel that your inauguration as a citizen was marred by people telling the truth all over the place. I mean, do you need everybody to be all taciturn - did the demonstrators implicitly attack the new citizens?

No, but look at the video.  You have one person running up to the stage and everything

My point is that these people do not speak well for their cause.
