Obama Plays the Race Card Already

June 21st, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

We all know that Obama supporters will pretend that Republicans in general, and John McCain specifically, are racists for, well, not supporting the junior Senator from Illinois. We all know that. So, when they do, we shouldn’t be surprised. What did surprise me, however, is that Obama accuses Republicans of playing the race card himself, directly, before Republicans have done anything that could possibly be interpreted as race baiting.

“It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy,” Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

Now, every single person who knows a bit about politics and American society knows that if Republicans can make one gigantic mistake, it’s for them to play the race card. They may have gotten away with such an approach 30 or 40 years ago, but it would be suicide today. We all know that.

But that does not stop Obama from accusing Republicans of using his race against him nonetheless. It’s a typical sign of Obama’s ‘audacity’ (not to hope, but to vilify your opponents) and ‘new kind of politics.’ Accuse of opponents of racism, simply because they dare not vote for a black guy.

Will Americans fall for it?

I agree. Obama played the race card and he’s making it sound as if anyone who doesn’t vote for him is a racist. He backed out of public funding (even after promising) and then pretended to making his private funding sound like public funding.

Americans are really pathetic for having fallen for just divide and rule politics. New channels are also so biased in favour of Obama. I wish Clinton was running instead of Obama.

I hope there is more to this story or that this is just an isolated episode.  Otherwise it will be a very disturbing 5 months.

Well he endured Clinton using the card more than once on him.  Perhaps just a knee-jerk reaction or first-strike.

?They?re going to try to make you afraid of me. He?s young and inexperienced and he?s got a funny name. And did I mention he?s black?? WOW!  Like nobody knew? So what is he really trying to say here?  If he doesn’t get elected its because he is black and Repub’s and half the Dem’s are all Racist?  Let the Riots start now!  Because if anyone is stirring the Race card….it’s him.  And let me guess?  He said this in front of a Black group in Jacksonville Florida. When he isn’t elected and the Riots start, lets remember to point back at this!  And remember who stirred it up and put it in peoples heart to think a the guy wouldn’t get elected becuase of his skin color.  Yeah stir that pot some more Mr. Obama!

Funny you say that because when I read these words

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

My first reaction was "You mean like the Clinton campaign?"

lol exactly, but don’t forget it’s preferred to brush whatever Clinton does under the carpet and look the other way.
