A Blot on Their Legacy
The New York Times reports that Hillary Clinton’s defeat will leave a blot on the Clinton legacy. Bill and Hillary Clinton were celebrated by their supporters - and by Democrats in general - for years, decades even, but they were also passionately hated by their opponents. And then there were others, others who held an ‘in-between’ view.
People often did not agree about them. Some supported them, saw their strengths, while others despised them passionately. But everybody agreed on one thing: they were winners.
Not any more. From now onward the Clintons cannot be considered ‘winners’ any longer. Hillary’s defeat has proven that she and Bill are, above all else, human beings. They are smart, they have tremendous political skills… but they too can fail.

The banner picture is perfect. You can only imagine Hillary saying "It was this big" or "And that’s the way it happened"
and the Dem’s learned in 06 they didn’t need the Clintons.
Hmmm, I don’t really think that their legacy will be too tarnished, just as long as the Clintons busts her butt trying to get Obama elected. If he wins, they’ll be fine. If he loses and it can’t at all be traced to the Clintons, they’ll also be fine.
If she had won, they’d have become legendary, really big figures in American history, at the same level as the Kennedys. Now they’ll simply be a very powerful family (and they’re not done, Hillary has a career ahead of her, even if not as president).
Things are still a little sore, but they’re getting healed at an amazing rate. They’ll likely never be the most powerful people in Democratic politics again, but they’ll preserve their legacy. Hell, if McCain could hug Bush after his people had spread a rumor that McCain had an illegitimate black child (they have an adopted little girl from Bangladesh) ANYTHING is possible.
