Blacks and Obama

Cinque Henderson wrote a tremendous article from the perspective of a black person who refuses to vote for Barack Obama. His main problem with the Senator from Illinois? He’s not even remotely the trancendent figure he pretends to be (when it comes to race).

No, when it was useful for him to play the race card, in South Carolina, Obama did what had to be done politically. He encouraged blacks to believe that the Clintons are racists. He used words first used by Malcolm X, to make the point even more clear. The result was an important victory, made possible by overwhelming support among blacks.

Read the article yourself. It is good. Even Obama supporters will learn a bit from it, me thinks. Also take these words to heart:

At least the Hillary supporters I know seem to be aware of her more unsavory traits: that she carries a knife with her that she could pull out at any minute. Not so with Obama’s fans. It’s nearly impossible to get them to admit any wrong in him. Given the choice, I prefer to side with the group that knows their candidate can be a jerk, rather than the group that believes their candidate is Jesus.
