Flora-crimes

Venus FlytrapIn light of the recent pronouncement from the Swiss Federal Ethics Committee on Non-Human Biotechnology regarding the fundamental rights of vegetation, (The dignity of living beings with regard to plants [pdf]), I expect new terms to crop up shortly as labels for the new class of offenses. Look for them to be used first in Canada, of course. Mark Steyn, watch out! Here’s a sample of what’s coming:

Vegicide: n. The unlawful killing of a plant.

[Read the rest at StubbornFacts.us.]

Planticide: n. The unlawful killing of a “plant collective” (see sec. 2.1.1 of the report).

Crimes Against Veganity: Vegicide, planticide, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against civilian plants; or persecutions on appearanceist, speciesist or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime, whether or not in violation of the domestic law of the country where perpetrated. Cf: Crimes Against Humanity.

Vegitative Rights: The basic rights to which all plants are entitled, regardless of the laws of the jurisdiction in which they grow.

Vegitative Rights Commission (VRC): Administrative bodies responsible for administering laws which protect various Vegitative Rights and insure that principles of equal opportunity and non-discrimination are followed in all areas within the VRC’s jurisdiction.

Ok, that’s my bit of humor on the report. Later today I hope to post a substantive review of the document which, to be quite honest, truly scares me. I’ve linked to it above. Take a gander if you want to see how utterly divorced from reality are the European elite.
