Nude Photo French First Lady Sells for $91,000

Back in 1993, photographer Michel Comte was lucky enough to make a nude photo of one of the world’s most sought after models: Carla Bruni. Thursday, that photo was auctioned in London. It went to a collector (Larry Flynt?) for $91,000, even though the auction house (Christie’s) expected the photo be auctioned for $3,000 or so. Why was he willing to pay $91,000 for a nude photo? Well, aside from being very beautiful, Carla Bruni is now also France’s First Lady.

Sarkozy divorced his second wife in October and married the Italian-born former model, now a successful singer, in February after a quick courtship. Bruni-Sarkozy made her first state visit as France’s first lady in late March with a two-day trip to Britain, where she and her husband attended a lavish banquet held by Queen Elizabeth II.

The person who bought the photo wants to remain anonymous. We only know that he’s from China. O, and that he has way too much money.

The photo was part of a collection owned by Gert Elfering, the proceeds of which will benefit the Swiss charity Sodis, which provides clean drinking water to developing nations. in other rumors. A bid was placed somewhere for anyone that can find a picture of Spiderman, Superman. And one of the former first lady - caveate being it has to be a picture where she does not look constipated.
