Loss of American Sovereignty

April 1st, 2008 By: Martin R. T. van der Doodle | Tags:

American sovereignty is for sale, as Ely, Minnesota is put on the auction block for potential transfer to Canada.

The reason for Canadian interest is the lucrative rights to tourism in the region, known for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the International Wolf Center.

Border security activists are already decrying the looming forfeiture of American territory. “We were fixated on the invasion of Mexicans across the southern border and Canada stabbed us in the back,” noted one member of the Secondmen border security group. “We plan to immediately set up patrols to ensure that a Canadian invasion does not in fact occur.”

The crisis may escalate to the international scene, as muscular national security advocates take up the cause. “This example of Canadian aggression should be met with the full force of the United States,” stated neo-neoconservative activist Nerman Padhertz. “The Canadian people will face the fury of the Minnesota National Guard.”

Others suggested a diplomatic approach. “Our protest will be filed with the United Nations before the end of the day,” announced a senior U.S. diplomat. “A strongly worded letter from the Security Council will certainly put the Canadians on notice.”

Residents of the town are adopting a more cautious approach. “Does this mean that fishing licenses are going up?” asked one Ely resident. “I know them Canadians are socialists and all.”

Others are more sanguine about the prospects of absorption into the Canadian province of Ontario. “At least it’s not Manitoba,” sighed a local server. “Those people are downright scary. And Saskatchewan? Don’t get me started.”

Well…the solution is clear. Time to dust off those Canadian invasion plans from the 1800’s and show Canadia the full force of American might…sounds so good doesn’t it? I think so.

You are aware, of course, of today’s date…

I am sure the author takes the factual accuracy of this post as seriously as this author takes all his posts, regardless of the date.

The fact that this author might be more prolific on certain dates is entirely a coincidence, having nothing to do with the Easter Bunny, the Grey Men, or the musings of Lyndon LaRouche and Ron Paul

It is true that Canadians are "I know them Canadians are socialists and all".  Canadians will take the money from American anglers yet I have yet to hear a Canadian refer to the USA as "our neighbors to the South"
