		<description>The policy is ridiculous. OK, I understand the spirit of not mentioning the race of a news caster if it isn't central to the story, but the more details are known about a criminal suspect the better! If all they know is a gender, approximate age and race, then work with that. Maybe someone saw something that, given those details, they might consider reporting. 

Of course the hypocrisy is always there. If they don't want to mention the race in cases where they don't consider that there's enough data, then why mention the gender? Why not say &#34;an individual&#34;? And why mention the age? All details given are done so because the job of the news is to INFORM, and in some cases collaborate with the police. Of course the truth that dare not mention it's name is that the issue isn't with saying the race per-se, it's mentioning black suspects, and possibly also latino suspects. I don't suppose there are many people who would accuse a network of racism for mentioning that a suspect is white, but they have to make a blanket prohibition so they can pretend that they are being race neutral, instead of pandering.</description>
