PoliGazette Radio: Pete Abel

March 14th, 2008 By: Michael van der Galien | Tags:

Today at 3PM ET (oops! it seems that the clock has been forwarded one hour in the US already. We do that in the last weekend of March in the Netherlands) on PoliGazette Radio: Jason Steck and I will be joined by The Moderate Voice assistant editor Pete Abel. With Pete we’ll talk about Republicans for Obama, Senator John McCain, Iraq and whatever else comes up. It should be an interesting and fun show.

Aside from listening to the show, you can also join the chat. Of course you can also call-in if you have questions for anyone. The call-in number is: (646) 200-0656.

Speak to you in an hour or so!

I think it was a very good show. Listen to it:

I caught the first 45 minutes and was impressed with the presence,  voice and eloquence of Pete.  I am one of his co-bloggers at The Moderate Voice and we often share the same sense of uncertainty about interpreting situations, and partisan remedies.  But gosh, he is uncommonly articulate about communicating this stuff.

Michael, Thanks for giving him to opportunity to share his point of view.

Michael, enjoyed the show and your guest very much.  One thing that Pete said that impressed me was his self-confessed ambivalence on the Iraq War.  He mentioned in passing that his views on the War had shifted many times over the past years.  It’s no wonder, given the complexities of Iraqi society, the region, the military effort, and domestic politics.  Pete’s candor on this issue was refreshing, and evidenced his sincerety and intellectual honesty.
