Dude, You’re Almost Tied

Barack Obama declares that Hillary Clinton of all people receives special treatment (from the media and democrats) and that, if he were in her shoes, he would have been forced to step out. That’s, as Ed Morrissey writes, nonsense. If anyone has received special treatment it’s Obama and, more importantly, he may have won 10 states straight, but Clinton isn’t far behind delegate wise. As of yet it’s still very much a race.

Ed:

This sounds a little like a pity party hosted by the man of the hour. Obama wants the party to push Hillary out of the race, even though he can’t lock up the nomination in the primaries? I thought Obama was the candidate who wants the popular vote to determine the nominee, and not party insiders. What happened to that principled stand on behalf of the voters?…

No one likes it when the loser sulks, whines, and blames conspiracies for their own defeat. It’s even less attractive when the one who’s winning indulges in the same behavior because their competitor won’t quit before the contest is over.

Commenters who repeatedly or egregiously violate these standards or who attempt to argue publicly with editors regarding the comments policy may be banned from commenting further.

(1) Comments should address the substantive content of the post. Comments that repeatedly or blatantly misrepresent the content of the post or of others' comments are not welcome.
