Will Thompson Drop Out Part II?

Filed under: 2008 elections, Fred Thompson — Michael van der Galien, Editor-in-Chief on January 3, 2008 @ 6:27 pm CET

Someone who works for Fred Thompson told me that the report at Politico “shocked” him and that he had not “heard any rumors about dropping out after Iowa.”

The source went on to say that they’re putting much time and attention in doing well in Wyoming and South Carolina.

As someone famous once said, accounts of my death have greatly been exaggerated (paraphrasing here).

It seems that Thompson isn’t thinking about getting out of the race after Iowa, which I consider to be good news for American conservatives.

This "story" isn’t about the possibility of a candidate dropping out for no valid reason.

This story is about self-proclaimed pundits who blatantly fabricated anonymous sources within the candidates inner circle in order to damage his chances of doing well in Iowa.

This story is about a couple of low-lifes who willingly sink to the bottom of depravity, along with any other "reporter" who announces feigned agreement,  to push their own political agenda.
THIS is a story of a concerted effort to subvert the American election process.

    Now, THERE’S a story!

As I said here, Fred isn’t getting out anytime soon. That indeed is good news for conservatives. It doesn’t bother me that that news is giving the Mitt Romneys & Mike Huckabees of the world a world-class case of heartburn.

Fred Thompson needs to get out of the way.  He touts himself as a conservative, yet he is nothing more than a tired old "go-with-the-flow" Washington beaurocrat.  What did he do in the Senate?  Nothing.  He’s too lazy to be president.
