UPDATE: below (the fold) follows the podcast.

Be sure to listen to the first show of PoliGazette Radio on Blog Talk Radio. You can visit our Blog Talk Radio page by clicking here. The show starts at 7PM Dutch time which is 1PM ET. From now onwards I plan to do a show every Friday. I’ll often ask other bloggers to join me and you all on the radio show to talk about the issues of the day and week. This week, Rick Moran of Right Wing Nut House has agreed to be my guest.

We’ll talk about the direction the GOP has taken during the last couple of years, Fred Thompson(’s chances) and of course the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and the reactions of the different candidates to her sudden death.

Be sure to listen to the show, to join the life chat and to call in if you’ve got a question for Rick, myself or both. The call-in number is (646) 200-0656.

Cool, we’ll finally get to hear what your voice sounds like. :) BTW, is Dutch time GMT+1? Just want to adjust it to Spanish hours.

Randy, shouldn’t you be sacrificing a goat at the altar of Ron Paul or something?

Lynx, that commenter has been banned. Of course. And yes, it’s a Paulite.

Anyway - Dutch time is GMT +1 indeed. I believe it’s one hour earlier in Spain, am I correct?

Khefer: yes, try to listen! And if you can, also join the live chat. It’s a great way to communicate if you’ve got a question but don’t want / can call - and you can talk to the others in the chat of course.

Edited by MvdG: keep commenting anti-semite (yes, I remember you). Both can play that game. You’ll simply be deleted time and again.

Actually Madrid is on the same timezone as you. I’ll do my level best to tune in, but I may have a hard time of it, since that time usually catches me in transit from work. How long is the program going to be?

Michael, just thinking about the sound quality question- I’m thinking that your voice may have been on the proper setting- but that your cold may have interfered with the quality of the sound.  Tough to tell- volume-wise, I think your voice was fun.

Nicely done!  Can’t wait for next week.

"your voice was okay"- not fun.

Thank you Kreiz! Next week: Susan Duclos and… hopefully an aid to one of the Republican candidates.

Excellent.  From what I heard (20 mins on the front end; around 7 minutes on the back end), the technical part of the broadcast went very well- I could hear everything clearly.  I imagine that as your comfort level grows on the technical front, you’ll have more fun on the interview end.   It’s fun to listen to.

Kreiz: yes, one has to get accustomed to it alright. A bit more confident and I’m using Skype to call in: the sound’s not always great.

Anyway - next week will be great as well! Join me in the chat a bit earlier then! ;)

I object! Delete this dunderhead to the nether hells, but don’t for a MINUTE think he represents Dr. Paul. Here’s the way you can tell - if someone seems to be saying "I’m better than xxxx" you KNOW he’s not espousing the beliefs Dr. Paul feels in his heart. But there’s another thing I have to kinda paste in on you, if you don’t mind. It’s about our housing debacle and a lot of people will be screwed if I don’t so I hope you’ll forgive me.

The dollar slid across the board on Friday as data showing a 9 percent decline in sales of new U.S. homes last month heightened concern about the economy, putting the greenback on track for its worst week in more than a year.
The housing report, which was weaker than economists had expected, also bolstered the case for more Federal Reserve interest rate cuts in 2008. Earlier this week, the S&P/Case-Shiller index showed a record decline in U.S. home prices in October.

This is what’s happening to YOUR house. All the ‘money’ and ‘equity’ you though you had saved - eliminated! The equtiy through falling house prices - and the money because we are DEBASING OUR CURRENCY. That low fed rate you’re reading about gets created by printing money  and lending it to people. With more money, the money YOU have is worth LESS. So your money is worth less and your property is worth less - where can you turn to keep ahead of inflation? I think  you BETTER turn to Dr. Paul. He’s the ONLY one running that has a HOPE of being able to deal with this.

Oh, just FYI. A lot of people from over here read PolizGazette because you’re free of American influence. You can delete this one but the fact is we need you. Don’t think we’re all grasping and ungracious - that’s just our leaders and we’re trying to get them the hell out of here. Please help us with Dr. Paul - you might not be familiar with America asking humbly for help but we are - the ones like you, the ones who count.

Louis: the housing crisis is indeed a subject we could’ve touched upon. In fact it would’ve been fascinating to talk about it. Perhaps another time. If we do the show next week and the same "you forgot to talk about this and this… O, and this… and this" happens, I might consider doing two radio shows a week.

As for me being Dutch: firstly, I’m sympathetic towards libertarian conservatism, ala Barry Goldwater. To a degree, Paul reminds me of that (I’ll work on that later). However, I’m not a fan of all Paul’s plans, especially not his foreign policy plans. If the US withdraws from the world, it will become a more dangerous world, and that’s not exactly in my interest nor do I think it’s right.
