    Healthcare & Illegals.

my gf works at a local hospital here. Being a border town the illegal factor is a large one.

Current situation. There is a family that are of Mexican residence. They even have full benefits in Mexico - yet bring there mom here (who had a serious stroke) for care. They’ve been to 4 local hospitals over the years and know our system quite well.

The one that they are currently at is a for-profit hospital, as such it can receive zero local funds for caring for Illegals or non-residents. Yet they cannot turn any emergent care away. And where this person is receiving critical care already (from them) - they cannot transfer the mom to the local community hospital.

This family is demanding - and I mean demanding, consultation after consultation after consultation by specialists, surgeons, you name it. And the hospital is bound to a degree - to provide the consultations.

She’s already in the multi-million dollar care price tag so far - yet the for-profit hospital will have to eat it as a loss.

Its a travesty and the political correctness going on in America demands that this hospital and America eat the costs associated with such.

This is wrong. No proof of citizenship then no care. Period.

There has to be a line drawn in the sand. Finally. No proof no care.

Its harsh and cruel but if we dont draw a line our system will collapse.

This has to be addressed and it has to be fixed.

I left Texas 12 years ago because it was looking as if it was Mexicas. No longer Texas. Which I dont care if hispanics are majority in any state. As long as they are AMERICANS and they speak English and they have claimed America as their home and have pride in that claim.

More power to em. If they are illegals, speaking Spanish and marching in the streets holding a Mexican flag then round them up and send them back to the country they are proud of.

Ill even let them keep their flag.

    What’s “Mexicas”? ;)
And I’m not sure, in the future, if we’re going to be able to distinguish between some of the southwestern states and Mexico, given both the influx of immigrants and the continuing fusion of cultures going on. Already they have “Tex-Mex” cuisine, and I expect the combining to continue, whether there are illegal or legal immigrants there.

Perhaps that will mean the diminishment of the traditional Texas culture, but things change…

Ironically enough, well 2 ironies really.

The corporation as a whole (ownes many hospitals) lost about 800 million last year. Yet people still think that they should eat it since they are a for profit.

Second irony - if that were also a community hospital - than the same people that think the corporation should eat it - would then be against them having to eat it with higher taxes.

Heres a small amount of statisics just dealing with the community hospital - not the for-profit one.

In 2006, The Hospital received $45.8M from local taxpayers.
In 2006, The delivered over $196.1 M in uncompensated care.

Hello, my name is Anna! As you can probably tell, I’m a Christian woman who loves Jesus Christ and cares for all humans, even the wicked. What you probably don’t know is that I’m hot. My picture below isn’t really that good. I want to use my beauty for GOD, and want to encourage Christian women (my sisters in Christ) to do the same, according to the Great Commission.
